Who Is The Black American Princess?

{Regularly Revised}

Although it says Princess I really am a Queen.

  • Queen of Spades ♠ (come see me I bust heads!)
  • Queen of Hearts ♥ (I am trying to let love guide my life. Self-love first, loved ones second and I just try and deal with the rest as it comes. I actively question religion, but I am respectful of other people’s choices & I hope you are respectful of mine.)
  • Black Queen ♛ (…which informs every other part of my identity.)

Aside from that I am a mother to a 2 year old Black boy, which comes with its own set of struggles with race, class, defining Black masculinity and parenting.

I try to live a healthy lifestyle including a plant-based diet for myself, as well as my sun and I usually share a lot of posts of food I cook for him from my other blog, as well as posts about plant based diets, food deserts, Black fitness, food access and other issues concerning food and low-income communities.

I am very concerned with nutrition and hope to pursue a career focused on nutrition in the Black community. I am pursuing a healthy lifestyle but I DO NOT buy into the myth that healthy=skinny. No fat shaming on this page, I am learning to love my body and I promote body positive posts.

I try to keep it positive, but there are things I don’t get down with & I will be quick to let you know. It’s okay to send me questions about anything I post on my page, but please don’t be disrespectful.

That’s about it. I just thought an “about me” was kinda necessary, so here it is.
